(CNN) — Trafficking of children and human organs is occurring in the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated parts of Haiti, killed more than 150,000 people, and left many children orphans, Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive said Wednesday.

“There is organ trafficking for children and other persons also, because they need all types of organs,” Bellerive said in an exclusive interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.

He did not give specifics, but asked by Amanpour if there is trafficking of children, Bellerive said, “The reports I received say yes.”

Haiti is trying to locate displaced children and register them so they can either be reunited with other family members or put up for adoption, Bellerive said.

On the fifth day of Christmas my true love sent to me five written exams, four research papers, three group presentations, two sleepless nights, and a partridge in a pear tree. Finals week has arrived at Marist College. Let the procrastination, err, celebration begin.

Lisa Koehler, a sophomore, seemingly jumped right in to the Christmas spirit by volunteering at the library this week. Her motivations, however, had more to do with avoiding the two assignments she had left to be completed in the same night than embracing the giving season and lending a helping hand.

“I have to write a 10 page paper tonight and study for a test I have tomorrow,” Koehler said, “but today I walked to the library to help SGA serve coffee to students. I’m not in SGA, I was just looking for something to do!”

For many college students like Koehler, finals week is synonymous with procrastination. Some students merely delay working on an assignment for a few hours. For others, procrastinating on work that was assigned at the beginning of the semester translates into a weeklong study-date with James A. Cannavino.

And then there are a couple students, like sophomore Jim Niebler, who are almost too creative in the ways they go about putting off work. “I became a wedding planner one night to avoid writing a paper,” said Niebler.

Cross Fit Lehigh Valley Shows Promising Effects

Walking into the Cross Fit Lehigh Valley gym in Bethlehem, Pa., you will not see any flashy workout machinery. Instead, inside this single square room, you will be greeted by a bald, muscular, man measuring five feet seven inches wearing a baseball hat on his head and a stopwatch around his neck. This man is ready to help you become a stronger person.

Opening his gym in July of 2008, Markus Riggleman, 40, who still maintains very muscular physique, moved forward with the philosophy “We are not gym, we are a community.”

After previously working in a commercial gym in Allentown, he has an appreciation for what teamwork and interaction can do for a gym.

“At my old gym, people would come in and get on machines, do their own thing, and leave.”

It was ultimately this experience that inspired him to start his own branch of cross fit training now currently located at 320 East 1st Street in Bethlehem, Pa. The gym can be found in a private room located next to ice rink of the Steel Ice Center.

When William Mullan received the H1N1 flu vaccine, he did not consider any possible side effects. Although he was not impacted by the possible side effects, many people are and remain in the dark due to lack of research on the topic. While thousands of people are getting vaccinated daily, few actually know where this vaccine came from.

Mullan, like most college students, received the shot without any prior knowledge on it, the side effects, or how it is even made. This may be a situation that you are familiar with, just how much do you know about the vaccine you are getting or the virus you are being treated for? According to Health Services representatives approximately 10% of students at Marist College have received the H1N1 vaccine, but do they really know what it is? During an interview with student and vaccine recipient William Mullan he stated “I didn’t research the shot because my parents and my doctor said it was fine, why should I think that they wouldn’t be right?” Due to thinking similar to Mullan’s, students and faculty may approach the H1N1 vaccine completely unaware of what they are receiving treatment for and just where it came from.

The H1N1 influenza, commonly referred to as “swine flu” was first detected in April 2009 according to the Center for Disease Control. With the emergence of a new virus, came the need for a new vaccine. William Mullan may have simply received the Marist-wide email announcing the arrival of H1N1 vaccines on campus, however many remain unknowledgeable as to how Marist received this vaccine. “The H1N1 vaccine is actually made in the same exact manufacturing process as the seasonal influenza vaccine” said Dr. Larry Palevsky of the New York School of Medicine. Furthermore he said that because of this, doctors uphold that because the flu vaccine has been adequately tested to be safe, it can be concluded that the H1N1 vaccine is safe.

Dr. James K Festa of St. Francis hospital attests that the flu vaccine goes through a long process before it ends up in the hands of doctors at Marist and the hospital. Yet, before Marist received the vaccine, it had to come from a distributor. Distributors such as Afluria and The Flu Initiative control where the vaccine ends up and how much of it is distributed. “The distribution of the H1N1 vaccine was first delegated for young children and those who were pregnant” said Afluria representative in during a phone interview. The company did, however, state that they are not the only distributor of the flu vaccine and therefore it cannot be assumed that the vaccine distributed by Marist came from Afluria. While being involved in distribution, Afluria is also in business with CSL Biotherapies which produces the vaccine.

Red was overflowing at Marist College’s Nelly Golleti theater on October 24 and Oct. 25, 2009.

The theater was filled with students, faculty, community members, and family members. Empty seats were non-existent. They were gathered to support Marist College’s “A Night on Broadway.”

“A Night on Broadway” was hosted by Marist College’s Singers, and was directed by the choral professor, Sarah Williams. It was inspired by the “Broadway Cares: Equity Fights Aids Foundation.”

The night started off with Marist Singers in “work-out” gear, representing the ever so famous musical, A Chorus Line.

The concert was set up in three group medleys, A Chorus Line, Seussical the Musical, and Sweeny Todd, with several performance solos intertwined through out the show.

Soloists performed songs from numerous Broadway musicals such as Little Shop of Horrors, Phantom of the Opera, Aida. Popular performances included “Purpose” from Avenue Q and “What is this Feeling?” from Wicked.
